The Gift of Gratitude

The Gift of Gratitude Day 7: My mother

I was planning on saving my “serious” gifts for later in the month but I have this overwhelming need to say a few things about my mom.  If anyone deserves Sainthood – it would be my mom.

Earlier this morning, she was sharing memories and stories of how difficult times were when she and dad began their life as a family and their many struggles. We think we have it hard now, huh I wouldn’t trade places with mom, grandparents and all the greats before me….

Mom has shown me how to be a loving, giving, kind, forgiving and graceful person. She taught my sisters and me how to be strong, independent, determined and be prepared for any situation life threw at us.  She also taught me how to be a wonderful mother, a loving sister, the best Nana and a caring supportive wife as I watched her when growing up.

Mom is and always will be my mentor, strength, anchor, teacher, prayer warrior, confidant, therapist and best friend.  I can only hope to be half the woman that she is.

Much love from~
