If It’s Not Broke….

I learned last night that sometimes change is not a good thing. I had kids asking me if we were the same people that lived in the house last year and why did we not decorate scary. Where were all the body parts, the blood,  the gore, gross stuff, skeletons etc. I told them that we had decided to do something a little different this year. Lots of kids as well as adults expressed their disappointment. I even had one parent tell me that she had driven 30 minutes one way to see our house like she has done the previous years because of the way we decorated our home in the past.

I told Robin I felt so bad that I had disappointed and let all these people down….hopefully they will appreciate next year.

For now I am taking down what little bit of Halloween decorations we put up and preparing myself and anxiously trying to hold back the reins. … too late I’ve jumped out and over the gate in full Christmas mode.

Have a wonderful restful day and rest of the week.

  1. Wow! What a compliment that people remember your house specifically cause it’s the best house decorating wise! Next year you’ll not disappoint for sure. Sometimes we all need a bit of a break and this year was yours. 🙂

  2. It is not your responsibility to entertain the world. Do it when you can, but don’t feel guilty when you can’t. You should never feel guilty if you decide to take a break. You decorate for you, for the joy it gives you and your family….and strangers. But don’t let the strangers make your decorating a chore. Do what is best for you and your family and don’t look back! ❤️💕❤️💕❤️
