A Love For Old Windows

I love old windows with their beautiful design and power to keep out those bitter cold winters, drenching rain, piercing wind, and smoldering heat.  I salvaged two from on 1920’s home and love them.

I have one hanging in my stairway with a wreath I made while the other is in our Tiki bar and probably will be moved in the house.  (lower image before Makeover #3)

I acquired my first old window from a friend over 20 years ago and it has been in my decor all this time.  It is hanging over my bed, which changes with seasonal decor.

The two windows on each side of our fireplace are my absolute favorite. They open inwards in the middle and are original to the house.

These are the windows in the dining room – opposite the living room.  There are four of them also original to the home.

Here are a few ideas I like and would love to incorporate into my home decor.

The arch in this window is gorgeous.  The overall look from Dear Lille is so beautiful.

A clever way to use windows as a divider.  I did in fact do this in my one and only time of apartment living with that first old window.  It is a fun idea.

Use magazine holders to organize that jumble of books on the shelves of your playroom.:

These leaded stain glass windows are timeless.

Wouldn’t you love to sit here drinking coffee, listening to the birds sing, enjoying the company of someone you love….

Old windows & other architectural details on a deck or patio area = A really neat idea! Description from pinterest.com. I searched for this on bing.com/images:

I could go on and on including many more pictures and likes but then this post would never end!

I hope you have a wonderful evening and thanks for the visit.
