Those ruby slippers, Tin man, Scarecrow and Cowardly lion….
I grew up eating wonderfully home grown food and home cooked meals. That aroma pouring out the front door when walking in from school or doing chores. I was very blessed to have parents who could layout a spread on the table fit enough for a king. They could cook anything from scratch. We hardly if ever ate anything from premixed packages. They used their original recipe or a recipe passed down from their parents/grandparents. I am happy to say that I believe a little of their goodness rubbed off on me. Last night I decided to make fajitas, rice, refried beans and guacamole…..I did not use a recipe. Instead I added a dab of this, a pinch of that and low and behold it was delicious! Robin bragged about how good dinner was all evening. In addition to decorating, I love to cook. Sometimes my meals are a grand slam and sometimes my oh my – what a disaster. Lucky for me, Robin will eat whatever I prepare for him without complaint. He truly is a saint.
I’m thinking in addition of chickens, I may try gardening this year. My biggest nemesis – squirrels, moles and rabbits….now I haven’t gardened in years so I’m not sure what all I will be planting and I don’t know how successful this is going to be…I was thinking since I enjoy being outside, why not make the best of it!
I’m hoping this will get me started…
